And so it begins....

1. An extension to the gun control registration deadline.
   
2. The willful hiding of information and plea bargains, aka Bernardo/Humolka.
   
3. A 16-old imprisoned for writing about his life experiences.
   
4. The unanimous court decision against Latimer.

So now we see the complicity between the political and the legal systems. Systems originated to serve the people and accountable to the people are now serving the letter of the law and not the moral of the law.

The Canadian Justice System and related institutions are now on their death throes... We are starting to see more and more decisions made according to the letter of the law... based on the technicality of the interpretations of the law. Regrettably, most of these decisions will be made without regard for the moral issues nor individual rights, especially as it relates to parental circumstances. Finally, average citizens, the middle-class, en masse are beginning to realize the extent of this duplicity. Even their rights as parents are being usurped.

Messieurs Judges, note that you are leading Canadian society as it walks its last mile. You are leading Jane and Joe Average inexorably towards a chasm of immense proportions, a social schism that will make average citizens ever more cynical of our cherished institutions, their representatives, and their capability of providing honest and fair guidance to society.

Messieurs Politicians, note that you may have hoodwinked the majority of the middle-class of Ontario into voting for vague promises of doing better in the future, of being better than the alternative, but you can only fool some of the people some of the time. Time will expose your vile tactics and J.J. Average will be ashamed. There will come a time... for adjustment.

So now we see the complicity between the political and the legal systems. Not only have they been hypocritically implementing a 2-tier health system, they are now also advocating a 2-tier system of justice. The above recent events, to name a few, prove that they are actually implementing it as we speak. They are serving the well off and well connected better than Jane and Joe Average. As J.J. Average becomes more and more frustrated with proposed solutions, they will seriously start to consider alternative actions. We are fast approaching the point of no return... Canada is close to becoming another Bosnia, another middle-east. J.J. Average's actions will soon be based on emotions and not common sense and respect for others. Gun control legislation will not stem the availability of black market arms (talk about misdirected, misspent public funds)... criminals do not abide by the letter of the law, and soon J.J. Average will not. Welcome to chaos, the only way the inept can justify their actions... lack of actions and mismanagement.

Mr. Latimer... congratulations on staying true to your responsibilities as a parent. Some of us do empathize with your situation. The burden of parenting includes making harsh decisions that are as hurtful to us as to our children. The choices professed to you were more than ludicrous : how can any honest loving parent allow their child to be operated upon without anesthetics for the massive pains that would be incurred ; how can any sane person sit by and watch a loved one suffer the agonies of hell without wanting to somehow assume the burden onto one's self. So decisions that come from the heart... not from some politically correct legally approved textbook, were required. Decisions that were meant to help the individual, not society's whims. Decisions that were based on honesty and fairness, which is more than we can say for too many of those that have been put in positions of governing power and authority.

Mr. Latimer, this is my public commitment to the belief that you have acted in a humanitarian manner... with love, compassion and honesty. Many of us recognize the painful sacrifices that you have endured. Any sacrifice for a loved one (based on common sense and pertinent facts) should be encouraged. I for one consider you a valued Canadian. If only I had more money or powerful contacts to help you. All I can offer you are my thoughts and prayers.
